Direct Funds for Mural Creation $10 Increments

$10.00

Your contribution will go directly to creating the Honoring Dakota Mural, the capstone of the first phase of The Honoring Dakota Project, conceived in 2020 and launched in October 2022.

The Honoring Dakota Mural will be painted on the City of Red Wing building located at West 3rd and Bluff Streets. This location, right off the Eisenhower Bridge of Valor at the entrance of our community, and with He Mni Can- Barn Bluff in close proximity, is a wonderful place to celebrate and honor the Dakota people and their contribution to our community. We have taken into consideration the best means, methods and materials to ensure the longevity of the mural.

Honoring Dakota Project

A process of community conversations and events that provide education to discover our shared stories, bridge our communities, and create a space for healing.

There is an ongoing need to acknowledge the Dakota people as vital members of the Red Wing Community. Through art, shared experiences, and conversations we will uplift, honor, and celebrate our rich cultures.
